Kenta Torimoto [JP | CN]
I was born in a small town in Hokkaido, the northern part of Japan in 1980. I grew up in Japan’s post-bubble period when economic stagnation overshadowed the whole country. During this time though, China was growing rapidly and rather drastically. I wanted to witness that growth for myself.
I moved to Dalian in 2004 and started visiting galleries in Shanghai on weekends. That was a fascinating experience. I remember seeing locals pop in a gallery and buy expensive art pieces as if they was buying oranges at the supermarket. Some time later, I started working at one of the galleries on Moganshan Lu and since 2006 I have been running an art management office called Office 393.
Kenneth Feinstein [US | SG]
Kenneth Feinstein is a media artist and writer. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Art, Design & Media at the Nanyang Technology University in Singapore.
Sebastien Szczyrk [FR]
Sebastien is a french artist, native from eastern France. His work is multidisciplinary and based on visual research (drawings, illustrations, paintings, performances ...) and sound experimentations (cds, concerts, installations ...) Since the beginning of his sound-art work, he's used to record all the sound he could hear around him. He always have a good recorder in his bag. He treat the recording as a game and enjoyed to listen and analyze the sound around him. Every single sound bit is important to create his "Dailylife composition". Currently, he concentrate to his project called «un escargot vide ?» ("An Empty Snail?") and he performed this project in Europe, Japan, China, HK and Taiwan.
Selina Shah [UK]
Selina Shah (1984) is a London based video artist and photographer. She graduated in MA Photographic Studies at Westminster University in 2008 and BA Media Arts at Sussex University in 2006. She is teaching art and photography in a secondary school in East London and working on projects based on her interest in communication technology adoption in developing countries and how digital technology imposes its own dynamic on the development of personal relationships.
no.E Sakana [US]
saKAna has toured the USA, Europe, Japan, and Indonesia playing her syncretic style of experimental electronic music since 1994. She has independently released live electronic mixes, and a series of 3 locked groove 7" vinyl with SPaZ Recordings, 12" vinyl on San Francisco's now defunct Visible Records, Holland's Weird Dream Records, and also remixed a track for London's Digidub. saKAna's most recent release is Gamelan Plesetan, a 74minute CD compilation of her four year exploration into improvisation between electronic and Javanese gamelan musicians. The CD charts her collaborations with Professor Rene Lysloff, Director of UC Riverside Gamelan Ensemble & Sapto Raharjo, Director of Java's Gayam 16 Gamelan Community. The CD also features a guest appearance from Javanese new media artist Venzha.
Malek Lopez [PH]
A contemporary composer and graduate of Berklee music school in Boston, Malek studied film scoring but found his real joy to be sound design and synthesis.  With a penchant for obscure jazz and lounge, Malek is equally at home tearing up the keyboard or guitar but finds his real pleasure in working with sequencers and twiddling knobs.  Malek is also probably the most competent synth programmer and sound designer in the Philippines able to quickly translate the ‘sound in your head’ to a sound coming from a keyboard.  Malek was also one-half of the abrasive yet very influential electronic duo, Rubber Inc, which is often credited as jumpstarting the electronica music scene in Manila. A further fascination with musical philosophers and modern classical composers often pushes Malek to explore the deeper depths of synthesis and composition.
