Isha Hening (ID)
Motion designer, VJ, and director. Graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2008, majoring Visual Communication Design-Multimedia. Stage backdrop visual, video mapping projection, live visual performance, music video, and music visualizer are her expertise. She joined Motion by Design as contributor in 2010. She currently resides in Jakarta, Indonesia.


The Swiss Mechatronic Art Society (CH)
The Swiss Mechatronic Art Society (SGMK, established in 2006) is a collective of engineers, hackers, scientists and artists that joined to collaborate and promote on creative and critical uses of technology. They develop DIY technologies and organize collaborative events, such as a yearly researchcamp in the mountains and local regular workshops in electronics, robotics, physical computing, diy-biology, lofi-music etc. They run a public hacker space OpenMechArt Lab (since 2009) and organize the international diy* festival, held every year in Zurich since 2005. They also cooperate with various sociocultural organisations to hold creative technology courses at schools and youth communities. With the "diy makeaway", a series of mini-workshops for kids and other open-minded people, they have been present internationally at various exhibitions and festivals, such as SHIFT Festival in Basel, at Copy!, Poolloop and Dorkbot in Zurich, MediaLab Prado in Madrid, ISEA Dortmund, CTM.09 in Berlin, CEMA in Bangalore, Cellsbutton#03 in Yogyakarta and many more. In Cellsbutton#05, SGMK is representated by Effi Tanner (CH) and Christop Stahli (CH). Effi Tanner (CH) - SGMK

Effi Tanner (1982) lives and works in Zurich, where she collaborates with different MediaArt Communities. She is a board member of swiss society of mechatronic arts (SGMK) where she organizes and develops several workshops, which are placed at different institutions and festivals. Till 2008 she studied MediaArt in Zurich and Aarau. At the moment she works on her master-thesis in FineArt and ArtEducation.

In her personal artwork she is occupied with conceptual thoughts of the society as a machine and the influence of NewMedia on humanity. She translates her theoretical Ideas into interactive audio-visual works and kinetic installations. Currently she builts robotlike machines out of discarded objects.

She does a lot of collaborative Work with different Artists from all over the World like the "Love the Robot Show" with Kirsty Boyle(AU).

Christoph Stahli (CH) - SGMK
Christoph Stahli (1982) is an artist based in Zurich, Switzerland, with a wide range of activities involving developing content and concepts for LED displays, performing lo-fi music diy workshops as a member of the Swiss Mechatronic Art Society, developing experimental audio/visual software for Nintendo DS, GP2x and other platforms. He is running a radio show, released music for 20kbps, trepok and other labels and is djing and live-performing regularly. He is also part of the art collective daftN0!ze and the swiss demo-scene.

Andrej Boleslavsk (SK CZ) - CIANT | International Centre for Art and New Technologies
Interaction designer and new media artist with over 10 years of professional experience. Currently working as an artist and researcher for CIANT - International Centre for Art and New Technologies where he co-curated new media art festival Enter5. His previous professional works includes game ArmA2, and other virtual reality and simulation based projects. In his own projects he focuses on the creating of artworks using a wide range of new media technologies, elements of experimental games, generative art and physical computing. These are also topics on which he lectures in workshops organized by various study programs. His specialization includes knowledge of media platforms such as VVVV and Arduino which he uses to develop interactive artworks.


Helmi Hardian, Benny Wicaksono, Novie Elisa (ID) - WAFT
Waft is an institution engaged in the development of interdisciplinary art in Surabaya. It was founded by a group of local practitioners with various backgrounds of event organizing and art movement. Since the establishment, Waft emphasizes on documentation as a basic idea of sharing information within the scope of art. Waft takes role as educative yet innovative media of dynamic art sphere.
